Top Five Skincare Kit Picks

This blog post contains some affiliate links

Can you believe we’re into August? This year – much like 2020 – is flying in. It’s been a little while since I shared a bit of a round up with you so I thought that this month I’d share my Top Five Skincare Kits.

You know by now that I’m not only a shopaholic, but always on the lookout for a bargain too – so these skincare kits usually offer great value for money or an exclusive trial size of a product so that you aren’t committed to purchasing a full-size that you may not be 100% sold on.

These skincare bundles are a great way to add products into your routine, or add in something a little bit luxurious as a little skin treat.

So what’s on the hot list?

Glow Recipe Fruit Babies 3.0

I’ve been waiting for months on this coming back into stock, so I’m going to snap this up when I can. Glow Recipe isn’t a brand I’ve tried before, but the great thing about this kit is that you can try out a miniature-sized five step routine – as you know not all products will suit every skin type.

What’s included?

Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask (15ml)

Blueberry Bounce Gentle Cleanser (30ml)

Watermelon Glow PHA + BHA Pore-Tight Toner (20ml)

Watermelon Glow Pink Juice Moisturiser (15ml)

Avocado Melt Retinol Eye Sleeping Mask (5ml)

From the general consensus, the Glow Recipe products seem to be pretty fragranced – although Parfum does come pretty far down in the ingredients list. Maybe this isn’t the brand for you if you’re sensitive or not a fan of scented skincare.

Glow Recipe is certainly a cult favourite by any definition and with their cutesy pastel product packaging they definitely look good enough to eat! This one is certainly on my wishlist!

Farmacy Farmers Market Kit

Again, this isn’t a brand I’ve had the chance to use before – but is raved about on beauty forums across the internet.

Farmacy base their products on a ‘farm-to-face’ ethos, producing fresh and potent formulations with their key ingredient Echinacea GreenEnvy – an antioxidant that pulls it’s weight in firming and protecting the skin.

What’s included?

Daily Greens Oil-Free Gel Moisturiser (15ml)

Honey Potion (15g)

Green Clean Cleanser (12ml)

Very Cherry Bright 15% Clean Vitamin C Serum (10ml)

Along with using fresh ingredients to ensure you’re applying only the best to your skin, Farmacy are cruelty-free, meaning that none of their ingredients or processes are tested on animals.

Summer Scent Edit

This is the second iteration of LOOKFANTASTIC’s scent box, this one has been dedicated to some of their most iconc and sensual fragrances.

This is a great box for fragrance lovers with six scents in sample-sizes to allow some liberal spritzing before committing to a full bottle – and what’s more; each box comes with a £55 voucher inside to redeem against you fave scent of the six!

What’s included?

Caroline Herrera Good Girl (7ml)

Paco Rabanne Olympea Blossom (6ml)

Paco Rabanne Lady Million (5ml)

Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal (6ml)

Jean Paul Gaultier La Belle (6ml)

Essentially, this box only costs £10 when you consider the volume of the voucher included – which is a total bonus for anyone that already knows – and loves these scents. I’m a personal fan of Caroline Herrera’s Good Girl but haven’t tried any of the others. You can compare this against the previous box here.

Drunk Elephant Night Makes Right Set

Drunk Elephant is one of those brands that I see so much hype about but haven’t yet tried. I’ve had a sample sachet of a moisturiser and it was pretty nice on my dry skin but I couldn’t possibly comment on the quality.

Anyway, Drunk Elephant has been popular in the skincare community with their Instagramable packaging and huge range of products.

What’s included?

Lala Retro Whipped Cream (50ml)

Slaai Makeup Melting Butter Cleanser (13g)

TLC Framboos Glycolic Night Serum (8ml)

F-Balm Electrolyte Waterfacial Hydrating Mask (15ml)

B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum (8ml)

This routine – perfect for the evening – actually contains a full sized moisturiser along with four other trial sized products and comes in right under the RRP of £92. There are a whole host of smaller sets available from SpaceNK from Drunk Elephant that give you the option to try just two or three products without such a large price tag.

Sol De Janeiro Jet Set

Never has a product’s scent had quite such an impact on not only me, but everyone that’s had the chance of a sniff.

The iconic scent has notes of pistachio, vanilla and salted caramel – it really is as good as it sounds.

What’s included?

Brazilian Bum Bum Body Cream (50ml)

Brazilian 4 Play Moisturising Shower Cream-Gel (90ml)

Brazilian Crush Body Fragrance Mist (30ml)

Not that I’m overdramtic, but I’m completely obsessed with this range. The body cream is such a treat for skin, it smooths on nicely without leaving a sticky sheen all over, instead it blends in and leaves a noticeable fragrance lingering. Rather than becoming overwhelming or cloying, the combination of notes instead leaves a real moreish feeling.
